wut?
Just got a text from one of my friends:

"They're making a documentary about babies... It's supposed to tell the story of four babies from when they are born to their first steps. It's being released in theaters next year. What the fuck?"

1 - what the fuck is right

2 - anybody know anything about this?

Hi guys!

I think about this story a lot, but I never can remember the name nor the author. I remember it as post-apocalyptic, and everyone has pretty much reverted to almost Bronze-age-like simplicity. The main character is a boy, whose father is a priest in their religion (it's an unknown religion, but it seems animistic in nature), and I think the boy is in the act of becoming a priest. He mentions several times something like "I am a priest and the son of a priest." He has to fulfill three tasks, and he has dreams about this place that they call the God City, and no one has ever gone there, because no one is allowed to go there because gods are believed to live there. His dreams lead him to the city, and he sees a statue (the Washington monument), but it is destroyed and he can only make out the letters "Ashing", so he prays to it because he believes it is a god. He goes into a skyscraper and rides the elevator up to the top floor, and up there he has some sort of vision and realized that the God City is not a city of gods, but was once a city of people, just as human as he.

Any leads? Thanks!

I read a short story a few years ago that I absolutely loved. It was included in an anthology that I know I have SOMEWHERE, but since some of my books are in storage and the rest are still at my mother's I can't search through them at the moment, and Google isn't helping. I'm looking for the story name & author, and perhaps which anthology it's in.

Spoiler-y description under the cut )

I just remember it being a very powerful story and probably the only one that really caught my attention out of that anthology. So.. uh.. any ideas?

Hello!

Today I faction changed my draenei into a blood elf (because the alliance side has gotten a bit boring lately) and before doing so I made sure she had duel-spec for utility purposes.

She is level 70 and has just started questing in Northrend. I've played her as Shadow since level 10 and have never healed as a priest before (though my main is a resto druid whom I've been raiding with quite a bit).

She was always an alt, and will always be. Her gear is mostly from Outlands and Karazhan, and she's geared as a shadow priest (or at least, how I knew how to gear her way back when I played her before WotlK).

Any suggestions, ideas and tips would be greatly appreciated. What does your skill bar look like? Which heals do you use the most? Anything specific I should know? What stats do you look for in new gear for holy priests?

Thanks so much in advance!

PS. The name's Aishlyn on Cenarion Circle, unguilded for now, but I'd love to make new friends. Feel free to drop by and say hi if you see me online~

I've been putting this off for far too long and cannot find the answer elsewhere, so I am turning to the one place that seems to have all the answers . . .  WoW-wise, anyhoo!

When WotLK was coming out, I decided to splurge on the Collector's Edition, which I ordered offline.  Lo and behold, with the crazy high demand for them, my order was delayed and put on a "we may have more, we may not, so.... it's pending.  Indefinitely," status, and  when the game finally dropped, I had to go buy the regular version in order to be able to play.  (I'm not patient, especially when the word "indefinitely" is involved."  Bought the box, used the code, and happily killed the pixels amongst the harsh cold of Northrend.

And then the Collector's Edition arrived! Yay!  I "upgraded" using the new code and got a bunch of cool stuff and art and a pet that makes cute noises and a massive box that did not fit on my video game shelf.

So the question now is:  can I resell the "regular" version of the game, even though I already used the code?  Did upgrading release the code from my account?  Or is it permanently linked to me?  Because, ya know, it's the holiday season and even an extra $20 would be wonderful right now.

If not, no big deal, but I'd rather it not collect dust sitting useless in the corner when it can otherwise be put to good use (aka making me money)

TIA, WoW-Ladies!

(I have no idea what to tag this, will edit if I figure something out)

I got a question for you survival hunters out there about rotations.

I was talking to one of my guildies who just happened to have a hunter before he switched his main to a healer. and we were talking about increasing my damage. (Some days i do good, and others it's just bleh.)

and here's where i go "buh?"

my shot priority is SS>>BA>>ES>>AS>>StS for boss fights where i don't have to run i pop rapid fire before ES in that rotation. so basically in fights it ends up where i'll do my first round then 2 StS, ES, StS, aimed shot and whack a mole from there.

now he's suggesting removing aimed shot from this to squeeze in more steady shots. Do any of you ladies do that?

I'd basically just use aimed shot for pvp/kiting large things/faction champs if i did, and part of my says "It's off CD, HURRY CLICK IT!"

so. yeah. If any of you surv ladies out there use a rotation/priority where aimed shot's only in the mix for special occasions does it boost your deeps?

((to aimed shot, or not to aimed shot? that is the question.))

So my fiance just told me a crazy dream he had last night

He was playing wow and doing random instances and his group ended up doing the Ivan ooze Factory instance(power rangers referance) that was apparently attached to Hellfire Ramparts. It was a crazy fight and only three of them survived and all they got was a tabard to rep grind with.

You know your marrying a geek when :P

I have a newfound want to faction-change my priest into a human and transfer them to Wyrmrest Accord to do some RPing. But my idea is pretty unconventional, and I wanted to get it checked before I go ahead with it. I also want to hear your crazy RP ideas!

So, last night? This happened. O.o.

Which is why this post is a day late. Not that you guys would know anything about that *g* -- but I had planned on starting to post the big Stargate SG-1 picspam of doom last night. Stupid world getting in the way of my fannish things.

ANYWAY.

The idea for this picspam came to me when MGM revamped the official website, and added incredibly awesome high-quality still/behind-the-scenes images. Originally I wanted to only use those, but it turns out they didn't post pictures from a few episodes [one of them being Window of Opportunity, which: WHAT?!].

So I went looking for the old [officially released] episode stills; Gateworld and RDA's official site had them. Since I actually downloaded all of these also, I decided I might as well use them too. And then I realized I had thrown rule #1 to the wind, and figured I would use screencaps as a last resort. So I did that too. *g* This picspam is the result of mixing and matching all of that.

A couple of notes before the pretty:

. This picspam has eight parts, one for each season. I tried my best to not use extremely spoilery images. While each part only has images from the corresponding season, I made sure that they are NOT in chronological order. There are behind the scenes stuff mixed with the episode stills -- some are totally obvious, some won't make any sense unless you've seen the show. Of course there is no way for a picspam to be completely spoiler-free, but I did try to make sure someone who's never seen SG-1 can look at these and still watch the show unspoiled.

. Yes, I know Stargate SG-1 went on for ten seasons. I just usually ignore the fact that S9-S10 happened. So this picspam covers the first eight seasons only. Consider it an Ode to Jack O'Neill of sorts, if you will.

. Working around 850+ watermarks WAS A TOTAL BITCH. My stupid O.C.D. almost killed this project about seventeen times.

. Many thanks to [info]amezri and [info]marcele for helping me with the painstakingly boring chore of grabbing all images from the official site. :)

And without any further babbling ado --

Stargate SG-1 Picspam [part 1 of 8]. )

After getting my boy addicted to WoW, he has finally gotten his first toon to 80. He decided to go with a hunter, and he really seems to enjoy the toon but he's stumped on where to go with it now.
My first 70 on my current server was a hunter, but he's stayed at 70 and probably will for a while... after getting a mage and a pally to 80 I've completely forgotten how to hunter.

So do any of you hunter ladies know of a nice all inclusive guide to hunters? He's out of town for a while, but still plays when he can, and I know he wants to get skilled and geared for raiding. So I'd really like to find a nice link I can send him to do some research.

I've tried to help him the little bit I can, but my knowledge of the class and the way it's played now are two very different things - so any help would be muchly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

A friend and I were talking about it last night, and I realized some people on Bronzebeard (US) have some pretty lulzy character and guild names. Some of my favorites (lol quite a few of these are people I play with on a regular basis, too.):

Bubbleoseven the pally
Bubblebee the pally
Omnomgnome the gnome
Ihatedks the nelf DK
Notadruid the nelf druid
Spellpower the nelf warrior
Parts with the title "Private" (Parts had some special characters, but still....lol)
Dadmomcat the nelf druid (i'm curious to know the story behind this name)
Vegeta the human mage (he had the spiky belf hairdoo in black too...sold me a port to Dalaran way back.)
Stunsofsteel the rogue
Pizzamage the human mage (she was eating pizza and rolled a mage!)
Kraphtdinner the nelf druid
Emeraldcream the nelf druid
Potroast the gnome
Underwear the tauren

Guild names are hard for me to remember, but here are a few of them I CAN remember:

My Guild Name Is Too Lon
Fat Kids IRL
My AFK Is A Lie
Straw Hat Pirates (I don't know why this one makes me laugh but it does, lol.)

What are some funny ones you see running around on your server? :P

Has anyone noticed if the item that summons this little guy is still in their inventory?

For some reason, mine still is in my inventory...

Just wondering if anyone had any info about this?

Thanks in advance!
